Munich, Germany (Sports Network) - Tommy Haas took down defending champion Philipp Kohlschreiber in an all-German final at the BMW Open.

The third-seeded Haas defeated Kohlschreiber, the No. 4 seed, by a 6-3, 7-6 (7-3) margin to capture his fourth ATP World Tour title on home soil, having won twice in Halle and once in Stuttgart.

The 35-year-old Haas won 85 percent of his first service points en route to his 14th career title.

Kohlschreiber was trying to become the first three-time Munich champion since the tournament has been held here in 1974. He beat Marin Cilic in last year's final after first winning this French Open tune-up in 2007.

The 29-year-old Kohlschreiber fell to 4-5 in career title matches.

Haas and Kohlschreiber had split four previous meetings, all played on grass. Kohlschreiber won the last matchup, a five-setter last year in the first round at Wimbledon.

Haas took home $96,000 with the victory.
