Columbus, OH (Sports Network) - Federico Higuain scored on either side of
the intermission on Saturday as the Columbus Crew claimed a 2-0 victory
over Toronto FC at Columbus Crew Stadium.
Coming off an efficient 2-0 win over New York last week, the Crew came out
confident and looking to push the pace. They earned their first great chance of
the match just four minutes in as Chad Marshall got a free header away in the
box following a free kick, but it went wide of the left post.
The hosts opened the scoring in the 19th minute when Bernardo Anor got on the
end of a loose ball in the Toronto penalty area and ripped a clean shot on
target. TFC goalkeeper Joe Bendik made the save, but Higuain was there to pound
home the rebound.
Columbus put the result away in the 67th minute with some excellent forward
play as Jairo Arrieta collected the ball in midfield and launched up field. He
laid the ball off to Higuain just outside the box and the Argentine beat Bendik
with a beautiful chip for his second goal of the match.

The result sees Columbus earn a second consecutive victory for the first time
this season, while Toronto FC have lost two straight matches.
