Denver, CO (Sports Network) - Jamie McGinn had two goals and an assist as the
Colorado Avalanche took down the St. Louis Blues, 5-3, in the opener of a
Cody McLeod, Matt Duchene and Chuck Kobasew each scored a goal for the
Avalanche, who have won eight straight at home against St. Louis.
Jean-Sebastien Giguere made 29 saves for Colorado, which went 2-1-1 on a four-
David Backes had a goal and an assist for the Blues, who came into the game
needing just one point to clinch a playoff spot. Jaden Schwartz and Kevin
Shattenkirk also lit the lamp.
Brian Elliott stopped 15-of-19 shots before being pulled for St. Louis, which
