Detroit, MI (SportsNetwork.com) - The Detroit Red Wings announced that
veteran forward Henrik Zetterberg will return to action for Saturday's game at
The Wings placed Zetterberg on long-term injured reserve Dec. 11 as the 33-
year-old winger continued to recover from a herniated disc in his back which
has kept him off the ice since Dec. 1.
At the time he was stricken, the veteran Swede led the Red Wings with 30
points (11 goals, 19 assists) through 28 games.
Detroit, which has dropped seven of its last nine games, plays on the road
against the Panthers and Nashville Predators before its New Year's Day contest
against the Toronto Maple Leafs at Michigan Stadium.
