Bowling Green, OH (SportsNetwork.com) - Travon Baker led all scorers with 13
points, as the Northern Illinois Huskies won a low-scoring affair over the
Bowling Green Falcons, 45-36, in Mid-American Conference action at the Stroh
Baker shot 4-of-9 from the field and 4-of-6 from the free-throw line for NIU
(7-7, 1-1 MAC), which has won two of three. Darrell Bowie and Jordan Threloff
both hauled in eight rebounds for the visitors.
For BGSU (6-9, 0-2), losers of four straight, Richaun Holmes tallied 12
points, eight boards and six blocks.
NIU shot just 39.1 percent from the field in the first half, but BGSU was even
worse at 25 percent, as the Huskies took a 26-18 lead into the break.
The Falcons stormed back in the second half and even led by one with just over
three minutes to play, but the Huskies finished the contest on an 11-1 run to
NIU won the rebounding battle, 40-29.
