Grand Forks, ND (Sports Network) - Frank Otis produced a double-double with 20
points and a game-high 12 rebounds as he helped guide the Weber State Wildcats
to a 66-51 win over North Dakota in Big Sky Conference play at the Betty
Engelstad Sioux Center.
Davion Berry was the top scorer in the outing with 21 points as the Wildcats
(14-5, 9-2 Big Sky) snapped a two-game slide.
North Dakota (8-12, 5-6) was paced by Josh Schuler, the only player in double
figures, as he tallied 12 points on 5-of-10 shooting from the floor. The other
four starters for the hosts combined to shoot just 8-of-27 from the field as
they bowed for the second time in the last three outings.
UND grabbed an early lead in the first half, but still ended up trailing by
three points at the half, 29-26. The Wildcats were able to move ahead even
though they shot just 38.7 percent from the floor, 5-of-10 at the free-throw
line and missed all five chances beyond the arc in the period.
Weber State turned it around in the second half with 56.5 percent accuracy
from the field and 4-of-5 on the perimeter in order to claim the 15-point win.
The Wildcats turned the ball over 16 times on the night, but still picked up
the comfortable win thanks to a 40-28 rebounding advantage.
