Atlanta, GA - The first road game of the year proved to be a rough experience for Wesleyan College as Oglethorpe College led wire-to-wire in an 84-33 seeason opening decision.
Oglethorpe forced the Pioneers into 35 turnovers, which they turned into 47 points over the course of the game. They also held Wesleyan to only 28% shooting from the field and 47% from the free throw line.
Senior Lindsay Grimsley, who led the GSAC in scoring last season, picked up right where she left off last season, leading the Pioneers with 17 points and eight rebounds in 38 minutes of action. Junior Kellie Bacon pulled down seven rebounds and three assists in her Wesleyan debut.
The Pioneers play their home opener on Saturday when they take on Pensacola Christian College at 2:00pm at Porter Gymnasium. Admission is free.
