Phoenix, AZ (Sports Network) - Jason Kubel hit a two-run single in the bottom of the ninth inning to lift the Arizona Diamondbacks to a thrilling 4-3 win over the Cincinnati Reds.

The story of the game early on was the epic pitching duel between Arizona's Patrick Corbin and the Reds' Mike Leake. But both gave way to their respective bullpen after tossing eight solid innings.

Corbin was in line to become the first Diamondbacks pitcher to start a season 10-0, with his team taking a 2-1 lead into the ninth. Heath Bell, however, issued a leadoff walk to Brandon Phillips in front of Jay Bruce, who belted a two-run homer to right-center field.

Brad Ziegler (4-1) then replaced Bell following Bruce's second home run of the game -- he also took Corbin deep in the second. The Reds got a runner to third later in the frame, but Ziegler retired pinch-hitter Jack Hannahan on a liner to right.

Like Bell, Aroldis Chapman (3-3) blew a save chance as he failed to record an out in the bottom of the ninth.

The Diamondbacks loaded the bases on a Paul Goldschmidt single and two walks before Kubel sealed the AL West leaders' fourth straight win with a base hit to right.
