ROCHELLE - Coach Mark Ledford has to do a bit of rebuilding this season as the Patriots will play without all state athlete, Makhail Grace at quarterback. Sophomore Antwan Benjamin will take over as the signal caller.

With that inexperience, Ledford says the offense will rely on a steady diet of running back Maurice Edwards who rushed for more than 700 yards last season. A new approach that hopefully gains the same successful results on Friday nights.

"We're definitely looking forward to win some ball games", says senior Josh Jackson. "And definitely a region championship and if anything comes after that we're going to try and get after it."

Ledford adds, "We're heavy with our junior which is a good thing for the future. We'll be counting on a lot of those juniors to step up and do some things they haven't had to do in the past to replace some good ones that have left us."

The Patriots march on the field Friday in a scrimmage with Johnson County this Friday night and travel to Irwinton on the 30th to take on the Wilkinson County Warriors in the regular season opener.
