MACON - The Carror Wright era is officially over with the red, white and blue and now enters Patriot Alum, Joe Dupree. Dupree arrives back home after a 2 year stint as the head coach of Henry County. Dupree, inherits a program that finished 2-8 last year but returns 16 seniors to lead the campaign this season. The former college quarterback says the teams goals are simple; Win the city, win the region and win the state.
"I'm excited for the opportunity to be back home at Southwest", says Dupree. "I grew up about 10 minutes away from here, all my family is here. It's just like a dream come true to be back in this red, white and blue. I'm glad to have this challenge and opportunity before me. I just want to do the best thing for them."
There is no scrimmage scheduled for the Patriots as they get to work on the season early. Southwest travels to Dodge County for the season opener next Friday night, August 23rd.
