Tattnall coaching legend, Barney Hester takes over a Howard Husky program in its sixth season and has plans to change it around.
The Huskies are winless over the past two seasons and have only won five games in the schools 50 game history.
Sixteen seniors will help pave the way for the new Hester era.
Several starters return, but Coach Hester says all positions are open for competition.
Senior lineman, Cody Doolittle is ready for kickoff.
"All the seniors are looking forward to winning games," says Doolittle. "We're not looking at playoffs, we want that, but we're looking for the game. We want to win the scrimmage, then winning the next games and going on to the next game. Play by play."
"We've got to change mindsets, but I think you change them one snap at a time, one practice at a time. You can't just go out and change your mindset on game night. If it hasn't been change by game night then you have problems. Thats what we're trying to do."
Howard scrimmages with Jones County a week from Friday before opening the season with East Laurens on the road, August 30th.
