It's always a proud moment for parents, a school and an athlete when they sign an athletic scholarship. But Thursday the emotions ran especially high for an FPD Lady Viking.
Claire Crawford teared up when she stood up to give a speech this morning. She thanked her parents and coaches for all their support. The catcher is going to continue her career at Georgia Military College. The slugger hit a .488 recording 39 hits in 80 at bats. She also put 35 runs on the board.
Crawford is close to the Central Georgia community and says she didn't have a hard time at all picking the GMC.
Crawford rnaks fourth all-time in FPD fastpitch in career batting average, hits and single season hits.
The school says all of the seniors on this years squad plan to sign college scholarships this year.
