In just his third season, Coach Maurice Smith has led the Georgia College Lady Bobcats to one of their best starts in recent school history.
At the halfway mark of the season, the Lady Bobcats stand at 9-4 overall and 5-1 in Peach Belt Conference Play. This past weekend, Young Harris snapped the Bobcats 7 game winning streak but Smith sees the loss as a blessing in disguise.
Smith explains, "It kind of humbled us a little bit. It let us know that we still have some work to do. Even during the win streak, we weren't executing on both ends of the floor. Like I told the ladies, sometims a loss is a good thing. Sometimes on the way up, you have to go down. Taking that loss, we thought was a good thing and hopefully we can get back to practice and start working on executing, start working on fundamentals and different aspects of the game that made us successful early on."
North Georgia comes to town Thursday evening as Georgia College looks to get back on the winning track while they host a double header at the Centennial Center starting at 6pm.
