Macon, GA - Playing without the services of leading scorer Lindsay Grimsley, who suffered an injury in Saturday's game versus Covenant, Wesleyan had difficulty finding an offensive rhythm in a 68-37 loss to Spelman College.
The Jaguars face paced, high intensity game plan took its toll on the Pioneers, who played only seven players in the game. Despite trailing 48-16 at halftime, Wesleyan managed to outscore Spelman in the second half.
Nevia Lewis and Kellie Bacon led the way for the Pioneers, scoring 14 and 12 points, respectively. All 12 members of Spelman's squad scored in the contest, led by Andrea Kinzer's double-double performance of 12 point and 10 rebounds.
Wesleyan returns to action on Saturday, Jan. 12, when they host Huntingdon College at 2:00pm. Admission is free.
