MACON, Ga.-- Northeast is off to its first 3-0 start since 2008. The Raiders beat Twiggs County, Central and Southwest to start the season.
Northeast was off last week, but now prepares to face a 1-2 Monticello squad on the road Friday.
"We always try to look for things to improve," said head coach Bruce Mullen. "We thought Southwest ran the ball a little more than we wanted them to run the football. We've been working on stopping the run a little bit more."
With an extra week to prepare for game four, the Raiders made sure to keep in shape and improve in lacking areas.
"On the off week we want to make sure we don't lose anything conditioning wise," explained Mullen. "We also looked at our weaknesses that we had over the first three football games and tried to improve on those things
Mullen says his team's success comes from looking past the obstacles.
"We've had some injuries and we had a couple guys move away, but our guys, the players, the coaches and especially those seniors, they've come together to be successful."
Northeast is on the road for the next two weeks, traveling to Monticello and Lamar County.
