Columbus Shuts Out Thrashers

Atlanta, GA (Sports Network) - Mathieu Garon stopped all 25 shots he faced and earned his 18th career shutout to lead the Columbus Blue Jackets to a 3-0 win over the Atlanta Thrashers at Philips Arena.

Jakub Voracek and Derick Brassard scored for Columbus, which has won two straight and five of its last six games overall. R.J. Umberger added an empty- net goal in the victory.

Ondrej Pavelec made 39 saves for the Thrashers, who failed to record at least one point for the first time in six games (3-1-2). Atlanta, which will play nine of its last 11 games on home ice, fell to 2-3-0 at home this season.
