WARNER ROBINS, GA -- The fourth annual Buddy Curry Football Camp took place in Warner Robins this week, despite heavy rain. The four day camp started on Monday and wrapped up later Thursday evening.
More than 245 campers took to the field to learn the fundamentals of football from former Falcons linebacker Buddy Curry, the 1980 NFL rookie of the year, as well as 24 volunteer coaches from around the community.
"We've had an outpouring of community support to make this camp free for the kids," said Curry. "[The coaches] put their heart and soul into it, while we teach these kids the fundamentals of each positions [and] life lessons."
The event kicks off Curry's tour of ten cities over the summer, which he plans to wrap up in Atlanta in July.
