More than 200 fans gathered at the Walnut Creek preserve to celebrate UGA Day in Macon.
The guests of honor were none other than Georgia Men's basketball head coach Mark Fox and top gridiron Bulldog Mark Richt.
The coaches were in town part of a tour across the country visiting with Georgia alumni, fans and boosters.
We talked with both coaches about how the athletic climate is in Athens and what we can expect coming up in the near future for the Dogs.
Richt expressed how life is after spring football. As much as he looks forward to the season, he welcomes the break before summer drills.
"We like it. I mean once we get to it, we enjoy it. It's six months of a hard grind but its fun. It's exciting. We're looking forward to it but I think we're looking forward to the break we have first," Richt says.
Head basketball coach, Mark Fox also talked to 13WMAZ's Marvin James about how the team is adjusting to a future without standout Kentavious Caldwell-Pope returning to the squad.
"I think were on track. I think anytime you lose any guys to the NBA like we have over the past few years that adds an extra hurdle but were heading in the right direction," Fox said.
During this off-season, Fox is busy recruiting while Richt is preparing for the Dogs season opener at Clemson on August 31.
