ATHENS, Ga.(School Release) --- University of Georgia junior outside linebacker Jarvis Jones has been named the Walter Camp National Player of the Week for the second time in his career following his performance at Missouri, according to an announcement on Monday.

The league also announced that Jones was honored as the Southeastern Conference Defensive Player of the Week after his outing against the Tigers.

Jones, a 6-3, 241-pound native of Columbus, exploded for nine tackles, including two sacks/tackles for loss, his first career interception, two forced fumbles and five quarterback pressures to pace the Bulldog defense during Georgia's 41-20 rout at Missouri.

The 2011 All-American returned his pick 21 yards to the Tiger 1-yard line to set up one of the Bulldogs' fourth quarter touchdowns.  On the next series, Jones sacked Missouri quarterback James Franklin and forced a fumble that led to Georgia's fifth and final touchdown.

Helping give Georgia its 12th regular season win in a row, Jones has 16.5 sacks over his last 16 games and is leading the Bulldogs with 17 tackles this season.  For his effort versus the Tigers, Jones also received a helmet sticker from the ESPN College Football Live crew.

Jones was also named the Walter Camp National Player of the Week and the SEC Defensive Player of the Week following his four-sack performance during the win over Florida last year.

The Bulldogs (2-0, 1-0 SEC) host Florida Atlantic University (1-1, 0-1 Sun Belt) on Saturday, Sept. 15 at 7:30 p.m. in Sanford Stadium.  This will mark the first-ever meeting between the two schools.  The game will be televised by CSS
