Macon, GA - The Wesleyan College soccer team held Talladega College scoreless in the second half, but a pair of first half goals lifted the visitors to a 2-0 victory at the Mathews Athletics Complex on Wednesday evening.

After surrendering goals to one of the best midfield tandems that they will see all season, Wesleyan was able to regroup at halftime, stop the forward progress of Talladega, and possess the ball for a majority of the second half.  Although they were not able to find the back of the net, the Pioneers had several shots just miss the mark.

"That was an excellent team we played tonight," remarked Wesleyan head coach Ciaran Traquair.  "I'm disappointed that we weren't able to score tonight, but I'm very pleased with the way we adjusted at halftime and shut down their forward movement in the second half.  We learned some things from this game that we will use to help us prepare as we move forward."

Wesleyan plays the third match of its four-match homestand on Saturday evening, kicking off at 6:00pm against Florida Christian College at the Mathews Athletic Complex.
