Auburn head coach Gus Malzahn made the annoucement on Twitter that Nick Marshall, former Wilcox County quarterback and University of Georgia defensive back, will be Auburn's starting quarterback this season.

Marshall joined the Bulldogs in 2011 where he played 13 games, mainly on special teams, and had five tackles for the season.

In February 2012, UGA head coach Mark Richt dismissed Marshall and two other freshman from the Bulldogs.

Marshall's first game as an Auburn Tiger and as their starting quarterback will be against the Washington State Cougars.

Before Marshall signed with UGA, he was a standout player as a Wilcox County Patriot. Here you can see some moments captured during Football Friday night.
