Since there isn't any more tournament dancing for teams in the Peach State, there is still a connection from the Central Georgia to the NCAA basketball championships.
Three members of the 2010 Middle Georgia State College team punched their ticket to the NCAA tournament that started last week.
West Laurens brothers Marcos and Trantell Knight played for Middle Tennessee State in the play in game.
But the man of the hour is former Bleckley County Royal and Middle Georgia Colle Warrior Carl Hall who is making a name for himself in the sweet sixteen with the Shockers of Whicita State. Hall has scored 19 points thus far in the tournament and the light shines bright on their humble beginnings at the junior college.
MGSC head coach, Scottie Moe elaborates, "Marcos Knight and Trantell Knight from West Laurens played at MTSU they made the tournament. We had another kid name Kori Forge he played at Arkansas Monticello and was the player of their league (GAC), Adam Calloway went to Morehouse and was an All SIAC point guard. That team had a lot of talent that went on to do big things but it's really special to see what Carl (Hall) has down and what Witchita State has accomplished."
Middle Tennesse State was elimiinated after the first game, but Carl Hall and the Shockers march on. They play Thursday night against LaSalle.
