Decatur, GA - Despite eight kills from McKenzie Bragg, Wesleyan College volleyball dropped its Great South Athletic Conference road opener at Agnes Scott College 3-0 (25-8, 25-22, 25-13).
A sluggish start for the Pioneers (0-8, 0-2 GSAC) gave the Scotties (5-4, 2-1) a quick advantage in set 1, but Wesleyan battled back in set 2. The team defense held ASC to a negative hitting percentage in the set before falling 25-22. The third set belonged to Agnes Scott as they cruised to a 25-13 win in the clinching set.
Setters Gabriela Silber and Melissa Rodriguez each added five assists while directing the Wesleyan offense.
The Pioneers retun home on Friday night when they host Florida Christian College. First serve is set for 7:30pm at Porter Gymnasium and admission is free.
