ALBANY, Ga. (AP) - Georgia Department of Transportation officials say a stretch of U.S. Route 82 in Albany will be closed while a temporary barrier wall is installed.
Officials say the westbound right lane of highway near Exit 5A will be closed from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Oct. 22. The speed limit through the area will be reduced from 65 mph to 55 mph in both directions.
Transportation officials say the work is part of a maintenance project that's expected to be finished by December of 2015.
Drivers are asked to use caution, slow down and pay attention to traffic conditions in work zones.
