The Macon Rescue Mission donates time and resources to Central Georgia. Friday, it received a gift of its own.

Five Star owner Charlie Cantrell donated a 2013 Nissan cargo van to the mission. The September donation helps the mission prepare for the holiday season.

Executive Director Erin Reimeris is grateful for a new set of wheels.

"We had an old cargo van that was not very reliable and it had become very expensive to maintain," said Reimeris. "We needed to upgrade that van. I made a phone call to Mr. Cantrell and they graciously provided the van for us."

The van will handle food donations throughout Central Georgia.
It will also collect donated clothing, household items and small furniture.

The Macon Rescue Mission has served Central Georgia for over 60 years.
