SAVANNAH, Ga. (AP) - Law enforcers in the Savannah area say they captured 26 wanted criminal suspects during a sweep that involved dozens of officers from several agencies.
The two-day P.R.O.P.S. (Police, Probation and Parole Responders of Public Safety) ended Wednesday night.
Authorities say officers also checked to see whether dozens of people were complying with terms of their probation and parole.
Savannah-Chatham Metropolitan Police Chief Willie Lovett commissioned the operation. Police said in a statement that representatives from eight law enforcement agencies joined the department's patrol division to conduct the operation.
