At Tuesday's Macon council committee meetings, members approved two major projects and tabled two others. And there seemed to be an emerging theme for the evening.
On several initiatives, members said they wanted to wait until after the consolidated government takes place to make a decision.
Council members agreed to let Macon Water Authority oversee the storm water management system. Sales tax money will fund the $7 million project.
Members also supported a $15 thousand landfill planning project. An engineering firm will assess the landfill and create a strategic plan.
That includes recommendations on managing methane gas and a recycling system.
Members tabled a contract with the Georgia Department of Transportation on state highway maintenance and liability. The proposal would've cost $600-thousand.
"I'm not sure we want to go into it knowing that we are going to lose money, and assuming all the liability," says councilman Rick Hutto.

Another proposal the members passed on was the construction site of the new communications building. The $600 thousand price tag and 10-year payment plan were enough for members to wait until after consolidation to decide.
"We need to know what's going to happen, what these committees come up with before we decide we're going to build something that we don't know is going to be adequate or it might be inadequate. We just don't know. We need to wait," says councilman James Timley.
