BRUNSWICK, Ga. (AP) - Police on the Georgia coast are investigating the death of a Glynn County commissioner.
The Georgia Times-Union reports police found the body of Commissioner Tom Sublett early Tuesday. Commission Chairman Richard Strickland says Sublett's wife called police overnight to report her husband hadn't come home. He says officers later found the commissioner's car and his body.
No other details were immediately available. Glynn County Police Chief Matt Doering scheduled a news conference for 11 a.m. Tuesday.
Sublett had served on the Glynn County commission since 2008 and was leaving office at the end of this month, having decided not to seek re-election. The St. Simons Island resident was a former chairman of the Brunswick-Golden Isles Chamber of Commerce.
