BRUNSWICK, Ga. (AP) - River cruises will again be making a stop in Brunswick and bringing passengers into the downtown area, where business owners hope they explore the town before departing for St. Simons Island.
The Brunswick News reports that American Cruise Lines has about 45 cruises scheduled between Nov. 7 and the end of next year that will stop at Brunswick's waterfront.
Mathew Hill, director of the Brunswick Downtown Development Authority, says he does what he can to urge passengers to experience downtown.
Marcia Stutz, owner of Hattie's Books, says she appreciates the extra 100 people who come through town when the ships are in port but wishes they had more opportunity to explore Brunswick. She said it would help if there were a tour in Brunswick that passengers could take.
