A new poll says Georgia Republicans are currently divided on an issue with roots in the Civil War: Secession.
In a poll of the Peach State, Public Policy Polling reported that 42% of Georgia Republicans say they would like to secede from the Union, while 42% "are opposed to the concept."

Tom Jensen of PPP notes that he is skeptical of these findings:
"I doubt that many Republicans would really secede if they had the choice -- not that many people are signing the secession petitions -- but their willingness to say they would is a measure of how unhappy they are over the President's re-election."
In last month's election, Republican Mitt Romney carried Georgia over Obama with 53.4% of the vote.
