Fla. Clerk Fights Off Robber With 4-Pack of Beer

Port Orange, FL (CNN) - Dilip Patel and his father were in the store when suddenly a man, his shirt pulled over his head, dashed in. Armed with a pocket knife, he tried to open the registers. Finally he was able to grab a handful of cash, but Patel wasn't having none of that. Watch as he grabs a four-pack of Natural Light Beer and throws it at the robber.

The would-be robber dropped the knife, the money and ran with Mr. Patel in hot pursuit. Regular customers say it's awesome, a brewskey thwarted a brouhaha.

Patel says he didn't think twice about going for the beer, it was the only weapon handy and it worked just fine.

Police say they arrested the suspect, Steven Paul Larson, at his Port Orange home. He's charged with battery and armed robbery.

At last check, he was being held on $10,000 bail.
