A terminally ill child's wish is coming true. Eight-year-old Robert Davis of Perry will go to Legoland to celebrate his 9th birthday a little early.

"It's cool, it's so big," said Robert Davis, as the limo pulled up in front of his house Friday morning.

Tiffany Peavy with the Byron Convention and Visitors Bureau, put this trip together in a matter of days. The special birthday will include a trip for the whole family to Legoland and overnight stay in a hotel in Atlanta.

"His birthday is not until November and we don't know how much time he has left," said Peavy. "So we thought it would be a great experience to have a birthday at Legoland."

Davis said he's glad that his dream birthday will come true.

"I am going to have fun," said Davis.

His grandmother, Cathy Holland, said she is also happy that her wish came true for this special birthday.

"He's ecstatic," said Holland, " ... If you could feel his heart, where ours is going 200 a minute, his is going 2,000 a minute because he's so excited."

Byron Main Street, the Big Peach Antique Mall, and other local community supporters also took part in funding and planning this trip. The estimated cost was $3,000.
