Right now, the national average for a gallon of gas is around $3.65 a gallon. Georgians' wallets have it a little bit better, with an average of $3.39 a gallon, down 5 cents from last week. But one spot in Middle Georgia has some prices even lower than that.
As of July 31st, at least two stations in Baldwin County have gas at just $3.02: the Kroger and Wal-Mart on N. Columbia Street in Milledgeville.
Geraldine Langford said when she and her husband saw the prices at Kroger, between those rates and her shopper's card, she was able to get her gas for below 3 dollars a gallon.
So, she brought their truck and an additional cannister to take advantage of the price.
"Tomorrow, it may jump up to $3.39," she said, "so you have to get it when you see it."
Managers at both Kroger and Wal-Mart would not comment on what led to the lower prices, or how long they will stay.
