About 15,000 people who work at Robins Air Force Base will lose a chunk of each paycheck through the end of September.
The federal furloughs amount to about a 20-percent drop in pay for that time period.
To help out, many Houston County businesses are offering deals.
At Colours Salon on Carl Vinson Parkway, stylist Chris Deese is offering $10 off a hair cut and $20 off color service to base employees.
His wife works at Classic Hair designs in Bonaire. She's giving a 15-percent discount off her massage services.
McCall's on Commercial Circle has a buy one, get one free deal every "Furlough Friday".
Customers can get $1 off family style meals at Owen's Boarding House.
CEO at Robins Federal Credit Union, John Rhea, says more people than he anticipated are taking advantage of furlough loans and their "skip-a-payment" programs.
Rhea said, "We have had about 200 responses to each one of those programs. We didn't anticipate that. We thought the responses would be more toward the end of the program. We have seen a lot of people take advantage of them early."
The 21st Century Partnership compiled a list of businesses offering deals and discounts.
Businesses who want to add discounts to the list can call the 21st Century Partnership at 478-225-9005.
The Partnership is also organizing an event August 9th to help those affected by the furloughs.
They are still looking for more businesses to participate in SHARE.
