Just as concertgoers claimed their spot on the field inside McConnell- Talbert Stadium, they had to pack up again.
The Warner Robins Independence Day concert and fireworks were delayed because of rain and thunder and were finally canceled for the night. This is the second time weather postponed this event.
The field quickly filled up when the gates opened at 6 p.m. Some lost track of their wait time.
"I don't know how much hours ... But it's been long," said Dominic Carillo.
The wait was for the performance by Stillwater and members of the Band of the Air Force Reserve.
Weather was unforgiving. Thunder and lightning forced people to pack up their gear and head for shelter. Edgar Hodge, from Centerville, decided it was time to head home
"I just wanted to go on home and not get wet," he said.
The event was canceled just before 10 p.m.
