A new candidate has entered the district 2 race for Macon-Bibb's consolidated government.
Irving Martinez, the man who ran against David Lucas and Miriam Paris last year for District 26's state senate seat, has thrown his hat in the ring.
He says if elected he will be an advocate for the people.
"I am going to fight tooth and nail for what's important, in the scheme of things it's people that are important, not roads, not buildings, not even movies what's important right now is humanitarians, to be human and to eliminate the greed and the hypocrisy that has torn this city apart," said Martinez.
Martinez will be up against Councilmen Larry Schlesinger and Henry Ficklin. Brandon Carlisle is also running for the District 2.
