Frank C. Amerson, Chairman of the Macon Water Authority died Friday at the Medical Center of Central Georgia.
Amerson had served on the MWA Board for 35 years, according to Tony Rojas, Executive Director of the Macon Water Authority. Rojas says that the water authority was Amerson's passion, second only to the city's economic development.
13WMAZ also spoke with fellow board member, Frank Patterson. He says Amerson's death is "a terrible loss for the Macon Water Authority and for the community." He says that Amerson brought the Macon Water Authority from "nothing to the best in the Southeast.
Visitation is scheduled for Monday evening from 6:00 until 8:00 P.M. at Vineville United Methodist Church in Macon. A life celebration service is planned Tuesday at 3:00 P.M. , at the same church location.
Amerson was 83.
