Seven Arrested in Washington Co. Meth Bust

Washington County Sheriff's Office, Tennille Police Department and Georgia Bureau of Investigations Task Force raided a home in Sanderville and confiscated methamphetamine, marijuana, and guns, a Washington County Sheriff news release says.

Five suspects were arrested.

After the raid, investigators arrested two more people at another residence and confiscated methamphetamine and guns.

The suspects and their charges:


  • April Leann Pence, 32 years old of Sandersville, charged with possession of methamphetamine with intent to distribute and possession of marijuana; 
  • Gerald Mathis, 24 years old of Sandersville, charged with possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime and possession of methamphetamine;
  • John Newton Mathis, 31 years old of Sandersville, charged with possession of marijuana and obstruction of officers;
  • Michael Steve Todd, 40 years old of Sandersville, charged with possession of marijuana and possession of methamphetamine;
  • John West Veal, 51 years old of Tennille, charged with sale of methamphetamine and possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime;
  • Wanda Kaye Stovall, 50 years old of Sandersville, charged with possession of methamphetamine and possession of marijuana.


Washington County Sheriff Thomas Smith says he expects more arrests as the investigation continues.
