Sunday night, conservative pundit and former Macon City Councilman Erick-Woods Erickson was the subject of a "SWAT-ing," a potentially dangerous prank.
As he and his family ate dinner, sheriff's deputies arrived to investigate a call to 911 claiming that there had been an accidental shooting. The call had been made to appear as if it came from the Erickson home.
Erickson related the incident on his Facebook page and on RedState.com, describing it as retaliation for a recent expose' on a "left-wing activist."
He said he had already warned the sheriff's department that such a call was a possibility.
Last week, Erickson wrote about a similar incident involving another conservative blogger, a California attorney named Patrick Frey using the pseudonym Patterico. In Frey's case, police approached the door with guns drawn because a caller claiming to be Frey said he had shot his wife.
