PITTSBURGH (AP) - The boom in natural gas drilling has cast two opposing documentary filmmakers in unlikely roles.

The liberal environmental activist finds himself at odds with President Barack Obama. The free-market conservative is echoing the Democratic president's support for natural gas.

Josh Fox and Phelim McAleer don't see eye-to-eye on much of anything, especially each other.

Experts say the pro- and anti-drilling movements the filmmakers represent each have some good points.

Harvard economics professor Jeff Frankel says the fracking revolution is clearly good news from the national security and economic standpoint, and even delivers some environmental benefits.

Yet Frankel says the fracking critics have legitimate concerns about drilling in sensitive watersheds. He says residents should get to choose whether they want drilling locally.
