WASHINGTON (AP) - President Barack Obama says the days when North Korea could use provocations to create a crisis and elicit concessions from the international community are over.

Speaking alongside South Korean President Park Geun-hye, Obama says Pyongyang has failed to drive a wedge between the U.S. and South Korea or garner global respect with its threats.

He says today's White House meeting is evidence that North Korea has, in his words, "failed again." Obama says the U.S. and South Korea are more united than ever, while North Korea is increasingly isolated.

Obama spoke at a news conference with the new South Korean leader. Her visit marks the 60th anniversary of the U.S.-South Korean alliance.
