The candidates for mayor of the Macon-Bibb consolidated government met in a debate at city hall Thursday night.
The NAACP hosted the event and asked 13WMAZ's Randall Savage to participate as a panelist.
All six candidates were in attendance. They are Bibb commissioner Joe Allen, former Bibb chair Charlie Bishop, local businessman David Cousino, former Macon mayor Jack Ellis, current Bibb Chairman Sam Hart, and Macon Mayor Robert Reichert. They were asked ten questions dealing with topics from public safety to managing a budget.
Additional candidates may enter the mayoral race as well as the commission races when qualifying re-opens Monday. It closes on Wednesday.
People in Macon and Bibb County will choose which candidates will lead the new government when they head to the polls on September 17th.
