Local artist Timothy Hedden met Oprah Winfrey in 2007 when she came to Macon for her "Favorite Things Show."

Since then, he's kept in touch.

Hedden used that chance encounter as inspiration to create 'Angels of Virtue,' a collection featured at the Hartsfield-Jackson Airport in 2009.

"The exciting part to me for 'Angels of Virtue' is that there is scripture from the Bible attached to each of the angels," he says.

There are 14 canvasses in the collection, each embellished with glitter, Mardi Gras beads, and pom-poms.

The 49-year-old lives in Warner Robins but has a studio in Macon.

"I wanted to do more than just create art for the sake of creating art or another attractive something to put on a wall," says Hedden. "I want it to have meaning and purpose."

It's art with a message that has taken three years to put into print.
