Congressman Sanford Bishop stopped in Macon this morning to open up an outlet for his constituents.
Bishop cut a ribbon at the Willie C. Hill City Hall Annex on Cherry Street, to announce the opening of a new second congressional district office in Macon.
The office is intended to provide services for those who need help with the federal government, including issues relating to social security, medicare, medicaid, veterans services, and military service.
"I hope we can bring the services of our congressional office up close and personal, at home, for the people of middle Georgia," said Bishop.
He also touched on gridlock in the U.S. Congress.
"I'm hopeful that we will be able to move forward together, and not seek Democrat or Republican solutions to the challenges that we face. They're so massive, we must seek American solutions. We can only do that if we work together."
