According to an e-mail from school district, Twiggs County public schools will be closed Friday, April 26, as the city of Jeffersonville continues to address a local water issue.
In the news release, interim superintendent Benjamin Rountree said:
"The school system closure is a necessary precaution since our ability to flush toilets, wash hands, and prepare meals are all impacted by the current situation. I am confident local officials are working diligently to resolve this matter, and we are happy to support them any way we can," says Benjamin Roundtree, Interim Superintendent of Schools.
Students dismissed early today as soon as school officials became aware of the problem.
