Parents with complicated child car seats, and even more confusing instruction manuals, can get a little help Thursday from a Macon ministry group.
Technicians with Family Advancement Ministries will walk parents through the right ways to install a car seat.
They're inviting everyone to drive up to their business at 570 High Place in downtown Macon between 11:30 and 12:30 Thursday.
The free check-ups are just a part of the ministry's overall goal of making sure all children are secure while on the road.
Sister Roberta Treppa, the ministry's director says, "Georgia state law requires that children be secured in a car seat, and some people just can't afford it. So, if they call for an appointment, they can come and bring their information and we provide a car seat along with training to make sure the car seat is installed correctly."
The free car seat checks only happen a few times a year, but the car seat giveaways are year-round.
Over the past ten years, the ministry has provided almost 2,000 car seats to low-income Macon and Bibb families.
