It's official: The dates have been set for another new major studio movie to film in Macon.
"Need for Speed" will bring with it an estimated 200 cast and crew members for filming in mid-April 2013, the Macon Film Commission announced in a news release Tuesday.
A DreamWorks Studios production, the movie will be an adaptation of the highly popular video game of the same name.

The movie will be directed by Scott Waugh and features "Breaking Bad" star Aaron Paul, Michael Keaton ("Batman," "Mr. Mom"), Dominic Cooper ("Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter"), Imogen Poots ("Fright Night") and rapper Kid Cudi.
Macon Mayor Robert Reichert says the city's growing reputation with production companies and movie crews explains why this is the third major motion picture to set up shop in town.
"Macon and our entire region continues to attract interest for movies, television shows, and commercials, and we are excited to be one of the locations for the filming of 'Need for Speed,'" Reichert said in the release. "With more and more production crews working here, our reputation as a great place to film is spreading."
Information about casting and other opportunities for members of the community to be part of the film will be announced closer to the start of production in Macon.
