Wednesday's fire in downtown Eastman completely gutted two Main Street businesses and damaged a few others.
The fire destroyed Soo's Fashion, where the fire began, as well as the Lunch Box Club next door. The next two buildings, Jonathan's Hair Salon and Angie's Creations Bakery sustained smoke damage.
"Basically what saved this building was that the firewall actually held. Had the firewall not held, it would have gotten the whole street the rest of the way down," says Servpro's project manager Danyale Starley.
Friday, crews from Servpro worked to dry out the buildings and begin the process of cleaning so they could reopen.
The hair salon plans on re-opening sometime next Tuesday and the bakery plans on opening this weekend.
