A former Macon police officer who resigned last week after being charged with stealing a tractor was back in jail Monday.
Troy Guidry was arrested around 4:30 p.m. Monday on five charges and released about four and a half hours later on $18,050 bond. That's according to the Bibb County jail web site.
He faced five new charges: two counts of theft by taking, two counts of altering vehicle ID numbers and one count of fidicuary theft.
Last week, he and another officer, Jon Wantz, were charged with stealing a tractor from a Macon business. The business owner said he used GPS to track the tractor to Guidry's home in Monroe County. Both men face several charges in that case.
Macon police spokeswoman Jami Gaudet could not be reached for comment Tuesday morning on the new charges.
