Members of the Bibb County Sheriff's Office honored one of their own Saturday, gathering to remember Captain Albert "Mickey" Hill, Jr.
Hill's 33-year career with the BSO began in 1979, and he rose to the rank of Captain, helping lead the Corrections Division.
According to his obituary, he joined the US Army and received the National Defense Service Medal. He later obtained a Bachelor's Degree in Criminal Justice from Brenau University.
The Macon native passed away on November 11 from an illness, says Lt. Sean DeFoe of Bibb County Sheriff's Office.
Officers with the Macon Police Department and firefighters with the Macon-Bibb Fire Department also showed their respect for Hill on Saturday.
